What Are You Reading?
I would love to hear what you are currently reading and what you think of it so far. I am not a big fan of mysteries, but I am enjoying "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie." I like books written from the perspective of a child. They seem to imagine more while having outlandish ideas. Why do we lose that as adults?
Yesterday, my ten-year-old son was having a hard time focusing while cleaning his room. I downloaded an audiobook from Audible.com. It surprised me to find that there are many audiobooks on the site that are free to download. I chose the book, "Zero G."At first he did not seem interested, but about 20 minutes later, he was asking me where I got it and said he was enjoying it. The best part is that he stayed in his room for two hours and cleaned! I wish I had thought of this years ago.
I carve out time to read at night before bed. It is when the house is quiet and I can get a few pages read with little to no interruptions. I have a desk in my bedroom which covers many stacks of books. Surely, I cannot be the only one with stacks of "to-be-read" books like this. Do you have a stack or two or three?
I am looking forward to reading a few during the summer. Books in my stack are, "Genghis Khan and the Quest for God: How the World's Greatest Conqueror Gave us Religious Freedom," "The Invention of Wings," and "Teaching with Love and Logic: Taking Control of the Classroom." This is a small sample of how I bounce around between genres.
I am not sure I will have enough time to finish the books in these stacks. Did I mention I am going to a book sale at the public library tomorrow?
